Having a baby 'changes everything'. We heard that countless times during our pregnancy. Some said it with a touch of stress or fatigue in their voice. "Ugh, it changes everything." Others said, "It changes.......everything," with a twinkle of joy in their eyes. I never really understood how much life would change.
I understand now :)
Maggie changed my perspective. All those things that seemed to matter and occupied my thoughts each day became muted after she arrived. Stress at work, politics, the black hole of despair that is the 49ers.....all these things don't seem as important anymore. At the end of every work day I find myself running out the door like a fourth grader to recess. I can't wait to get home to see my girls. To say parenthood changes everything is an understatement. It gives you new eyes, new emotions and aspirations and opens parts of your heart you never knew existed. Love has a whole new meaning.
