29 Weeks & Other News

We have just under 11 weeks until the due date. We've been in overdrive nesting mode, cleaning and reorganizing. I finally got the garage cleaned and ready for all the stuff we need to pack from what will become the baby's room. That's currently our catch-all-junk room. Debra's done reorganizing the kitchen. That was no small task given the load of stuff we have. It looks great.

We attended a cloth diaper class on 7/26 at Wildflower Diapers to learn about all the different options for cloth diapering. We're determined to raise this little girl without disposable diapers. The reaction most folks have to our decision is, "Really?".

A few nights ago I had my head to Debra's stomach, feeling the baby's movements. I was stunned when I heard her little heartbeat. It was so strong and fast. I never knew you could hear the heartbeat without some sort of monitoring device. I was in awe.

Debra is back at school today, getting ready for the students who return next Monday. I can't imagine having to deal with a classroom full of unruly third graders at 29 weeks pregnant. Fortunately her new assistant is supposed to be quite assertive. That should help.
